The nagging feeling of spring.

I listened to rap music on the way to work. No, not intentionally-- but through the headphones of the skinny-jeans wearing half Hispanic kid sitting next to me on the L.

He was wearing hipster thick framed glasses, a hoody and these gray skinny jeans.

He had a backpack with the ska-checked pattern.

I was about "this close" (imagine the fingers) from yanking his headphones out and telling him that he was ruining his ears. but, I didn't. Mainly because I didn't know his temperament. Instead I focused my energy on shooting him "leering" looks and snide remarks like, "see if I care if you go deaf." I said these things loudly and audibly enough so that those around me giggled and could hear. but he couldn't.

You know why?

He couldn't hear because the click of changing the song on the ipod was about as loud as my comments-- and therefore his music was truly ruining his ears.

So this is my question: Will my tax dollars be paying for his hearing condition in 40 years. Will i work hard and get uncomfortable rashes on my face-- only to pay for his self-induced hearing problem?

I want nothing more than to be sitting at home right now. The tulips are popping up... so are the daffodils. Rather than watching the guy depicted above read about socialist things-- and claim that I don't have a heart.

Obla dee.

  1. Gotta hate irresponsible people. Like those listening to loud music on their headphones, engaging in hazardous injury-prone activities like snowboarding and putting too much of that nasty white sweetener/cream from the gas station into their coffee, which they have a food sensitivity for, so they get atopic dermatitis on their faces.
Looks like someone should re-read John 8:7. ;)

  2. In case any of you are too lazy:

John 8:7: When they kept on questioning him, he straightened up and said to them, "If any one of you is without sin, let him be the first to throw a stone at her."

I always love it when the non-believer throws your own belief back at you.

  3. I just happen to think there's a lot of good stuff in the new testament, mostly regarding empathy, that a lot of the Christian right should take a look at again. But I guess if I can pick and choose, so can they.
So it's not the sweetener... Hm. Are you using any new shampoos, lotions, makeup products?
