The O.C.
A lot of people know that I am quite fond of the O.C. When I was studying for the IL bar and living in CA… I would allow myself certain free-time allotments. In the morning, I would read the Morning Comments while drinking a cup of coffee. At 5:45pm I would go to a spin class- and be back at my house and showered by 7:00. At 8:30, I would watch an episode of the O.C and eat a TV dinner. This was the time when someone could come over and hang out with me. It was 42 min of mindless non-sense. Teen romance, adult misbehavior- and an escape from reality… kind of.
There were certain episodes that I remember ringing true with me and my life—with very applicable life lessons ready and on hand to offer pearls of reality to my 42 minutes.
Sunday night, Matt, Etson, mom, and I watched disc 1 of season 1. (4 episodes) Matt, who normally can’t watch TV was addicted—Etson stayed much longer than planned.
Last night, Matt and I continued to watch season 1.
Scott, my roommate was in the living room playing cribbage with his friend Tom who is visiting and staying here. I warned them and they acted like matt and I were disgusting for wanting to watch the OC.
They kept playing.. I kid you not 5 min into the show—they had both put their cards lower toward their lap—SCOTT actually got up and opened the entertainment center wider.. and they were watching.
Me and 3 boys sitting in my living room.
When that episode ended—they sat and watched 1 more!
So funny. Here is Scott and his buddy—little Phish listening Birkenstock wearing hippies… LOVING the oc. I win.
My box of Season 2 is somewhere in a box near Evansville IN. I don’t expect to get it back or to see it again. Whatever. That’s what happens when you let a guy borrow your heart. When you know you haven’t sold your heart—you should NEVER EVER EVER lend out seasons of TV shows. Kind of like Mark letting me use his season 2 of the Office- I never got that to him. Maybe I will send a package. Maybe not.
See, if you are never dating- you never break up. And if you never break up—you never get together at Chef Ming’s and exchange a box of crap that you’ve left at each other’s houses and in each other’s cars. Instead, you never ever see it again. Shame on me for lending out my season 2 of the O.C. Shame On Me.
Matt left today. Sad. He is very nice and sweet and he smells nice a lot of times.
Oddly enough-- it was Monica's season 2. Not mine. UGH.
