Is it improper to text a friend to ask them to be in your wedding.....? And other questions

I guess my title says it all--

The book doesn't cover it-- if a text is ok. Or do you have to call and ask? It just seems like a lot of phone tag to me.

So I have to ask the maids to be in the wedding.

I have a ring bearer, bible boy, flower girls, guest book chica.


Now all I need to do is nail down the place and get a dress :)
