Memorial Day.
In memory of all those that serves our country, today, I mowed my lawn. Then, I mowed my mom's lawn. Now, I will shower.
I can't say that it was how I wanted to spend my day. But, I suppose it was how I spent my day, none-the-less.
I did mow down at the fort a bit. The sounds down there haven't changed. Water, crickets, frogs, and moving grass. It looks rough. I need to throw stuff away. While I was down there-- I craved the summer before First Year of Law School. That's the summer that Nathan Riggins, Brian Riggins, Dan Magers and I all dated eachother.. or that's what we refer to it as. We were inseperable. We swam, hung out, built fires, talked.... it was amazing. It was the summer I went on dates with this guy I couldn't stand (and spent the whole summer avoiding a kiss with) every Thursday night.
We called him "The Juice." He didn't know how this developed. His name was Jeff (last name unknown). He was old. They started referring to him as Old Jeff (29-- I was 23). Then they started calling him "o.j."... then... THE JUICE.
He was so Hairy.. His arms looked like a jungle... or a bird's nest.
Either way.. we'd go to the Saloon on Thursday nights with my parents and do karokee and watch the Trailer Trash have at a good time and work toward procreation and another $500/ month added to thier check. Oops.. I did just write that.
It was epic.
we fished at least once a week.
Sigh.....
Today I mowed lawns. No check-- except for the rain check on my day of laying in a hammock and listening to water.
(Wah Wah Wah cry me a river)... (Just call me Kelly).
