Letter to Leland
I woke up this morning with a yearning to go get coffee and talk about nothing. Of course I thought of you :) There's a lot of snow around my house-- and I am listening to KD Lang whilst thinking of beginning my work for the day. I hope you are well and I very much wish you would come visit.
You should know that Thanksgiving was insane at my house-- and we have all decided to make Friend-Day Friday a tradition. You should come next year :) Or whenever you want to. I have a whole series of bizarre happenings in my life at the moment.
1. I went to Miami with Jary last weekend: nothing happened-- But, I did find myself oddly attracted to him-- and this is weird. But it is good to know why you once dated someone- and to still remember why you are no longer.
2. I went to Austin this weekend to visit my friend mark who is moving in with me in four weeks-- it was a good time. He is moving in in 4 weeks. Let's see how that goes.
3. I am going on a trip with one of my dad's clients who I have never hung out with. N Jan 29-Feb 14 South Africa. (Just trying to Top Jon Sip... is how that started-- I tried to get other people to go on trips). But we have been talking a fair amount-- so... hopefully that isn't weird as hell. I remember riding on the bus with you in Costa Rica talking for hours. Did you know I had a bit of a crush on you at that moment. Well, it passed.
4. Yesterday at breakfast, a woman saw the people at my table pray before eating-- and she paid for our bill. (Texas)
5. My morning schedule consists of feeding my chickens, goats, and horses; making coffee; and reading about world grain trade.
I miss CA this week. I think it is the draft coming through my bedroom window. Or maybe it is my friends. Or maybe I just want to have a big bowl of Pho and talk to my sweet Leland. Give me a call sometime. I am typically around at any of the number below. I now have my own office-- with a door that shuts-- so I can privately speak.. Ha. But, our phones at work are still recorded for trading purposes and from time to time-- the guys listen to my conversations. eh.
I keep saying when I will come visit-- and the days have turned to weeks to months.. and in April we will be nearing a year-- and that all together seems insane.
This started out as a Wall Post. Glad I scrapped that idea.
I will be in Palm Springs during the first weekend in March for work.
Much Love and Affection,
Ashley
